Some Christmas Goodies / Award / Mom / Fall

The shabby girls have been creating some christmas cards for two raks.
Here are some pics of them with some scrap goodies Julie put together.

I have a lot of favorite Christmas memories.
When I was a little girl and we where decorated our tree I always love the smell of the tree. And now every year I smell the tree I get the warm feeling of the good old days:)

My mom is in the hospital. She has a lung disease.
Tomorrow she have surgery. We are anxious because there are a lot of risks.
So last weekend we spent time together with the family at a holiday resort.
We had a lovely time with the family. I really enjoyed all the meals together and we spent a lot of time in the swimming-pool. Just playing and relaxing. And we made some walks in the wood. I'm really thankful for this weekend! And so proud of my mom!

Vintage layouts

I made these layouts for a magazine Creatief met Foto's. Published in the sep/oct issue. I used the beautiful papers Ancestry from K&Co. The pictures are from my grandparents when they where young.

Deze layouts heb ik gemaakt voor Creatief met Foto's en zijn gepubliseerd in het sep/okt nummer.
Ik heb hier de prachtige lijn Ancestry van K&Co gebruikt.
De foto's zijn van mijn opa en oma in hun jonge jaren.







Op 22 november geef ik een workshop waar we deze prachtige papierlijn ook gaan gebruiken.

Shabby Challenge 5

Our Challenge Five consists of a focus of handmade embellishment/s - it can be a few or just one, but it must be the FOCUS of your layout (other than your photo if you have one!)

The eye must have a need to draw to that hand made embellishment/s almost straight away. And of course it has to be in the fabulous style of shabby!
Make sure you explain your handmade on your blog!

Challenge vijf gaat deze maand helemaal over handgemaakte items. Het kan er 1 zijn maar het kunnen er ook meer zijn.
Het is de bedoeling dat je zelf iets maakt en wat er uitspringt op je layout. Normaal wordt je aandacht gelijk naar de foto getrokken maar nu moet dat naar je handgemaakte item zijn. Je mag natuurlijk foto's gebruiken maar dat hoeft niet.
Het geheel moet in de Shabby style zijn en leg op je blog uit wat je gemaakt hebt!

Here is my designteam sample. I used some real lavender wood for the nest. And I played with water paint and gesso.
Hier is mijn designteam layout. Ik heb een nest gemaakt van echt lavendelhout. Verder heb ik waterverf en gesso gebruikt

Happy birthday....

....to me!

Vandaag is mijn verjaardag!
Ik werd vanochtend wakker gemaakt door een blije Annemijn....Je bent jarig mama!
Toen we beneden kwamen hing de kamer vol met slingers en stond er een prachtige bos met bloemen in de vaas.

Today is my birthday!
This morning Annemijn was near my bed and was very Happy... It's your birthday mom!
The whole house was decorated and there where beautiful fowers!
Today we are going to the cinema and eat at a lovely place.



Vanmiddag gaan we gezellig naar de bios en daarna een hapje eten.
De afgelopen week heb ik een kaart gehad van Karen uit Amerika. Ze had daarbij een cadeautje gedaan. Een mask van Tim Holtz. Dank je wel Karen, helemaal geweldig!!!!

I found a beautiful card in the mail from Karen from the USA with a gift, a mask from Tim Holtz! Thank you so much Karen.





En er zat een pakje bij de post uit Australie. The What Is Old Is New Kit.
Wat een geweldige kit is dit!! Prachtige vintage spulletjes!!! Kan haast niet wachten om er mee te gaan spelen!

And last week there was a packed from Australia. What Is Old Is New Kit What a gorgeous kit!!!! Can't wait to play with it!!

Het was een gezellige dag en het resultaat was geweldig!!!

Grandparents

Deze layouts heb ik begin van dit jaar gemaakt. Maar had ze nog niet op mijn blog gezet.
Op de foto's zie je mijn grootouders ergens midden de jaren 30. Mijn opa is 10 jaar geleden overleden en mijn oma afgelopen zomer.
Ik vind het heerlijk om oude familie foto's te scrappen!

I made these pages months ago but didn't post them on my blog.
The pictures are from my grandparents some where around 1935.
My grandpa died 10 years ago and my grandma last summer.
I love to srap pictures of them.

some updates

De afgelopen 2 weken heb ik haast niet achter mijn computer gezeten.
Ik ben door mijn rug gegaan en heb dagen lang alleen maar kunnen liggen. Was erg moeilijk voor een bezige bij als ik maar ik heb eindelijk weer eens tv kunnen kijken en dat was soms nog wel leuk ook.

Vandaag was de 4e Dutch SIS Crop en ondanks dat ik nog veel pijn in mijn rug had en moeilijk kon lopen ben ik er toch naar toe gegaan. Het was erg leuk om iedereen weer te zien en de Round Robbin was weer heerlijk om te doen. Helaas had ik mijn fototoestel niet bij me maar Jenneke heeft veel foto's gemaakt en die zal ze zeker op haar blog zetten.

The last 2 weeks I had to lay down in bed because I had problems with my back. I had a lot af pain and could not walk. It was hard for me doing nothing. The only thing I could do was watch tv and a little reading.

Today was the first day I came out of my bed because we had the 4th Dutch SIS crop.
I still had a lot of pain in my back and could hardly walk but it was great to meet the other SISters again!! We did a Round Robbin and had a lot of fun. Jenneke took a lot of pictures today and she will post them on her blog.

Verder vond ik in mijn mail nog een leuk berichtje dat ik op het Scrappers Anonimous forum de winnaar ben van de This Blogs Rocks Award van de maand september.
Ik ken het forum niet maar ga er zeker kijken! Dank jullie wel voor het stemmen!

Volgende week zaterdag de 17e geef ik de workshop servies schilderen. Als locatie heb ik gekozen voor een geweldig leuk brocant/vintage winkeltje "Bij Mij" in Dodewaard. Jose is de eigenaresse. Ze verkoopt heel veel oude spulletjes en mooie hebbe dingetjes. Maar ook voor gerestylde meubeltjes kun je bij haar terecht. Heerlijk vind ik het om er rond te lopen/kijken!
Hier een paar foto's om een idee te krijgen.

Next week the 17 th I'm going to teach a workshop Painting a tea set. As location I choose a wonderful brocant/vintage store. I really love this place. Here are some photos.
